Review: We Are All Made of Molecules

We Are All Made of Molecules We Are All Made of Molecules by Susin Nielsen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

With a whole new take on the modern family, Nielsen has readers laughing, cringing, crying, and just plain rooting for Stewart.

Two years after 13 year old Stewart loses his mom to cancer, his dad has found someone new, and they are moving in with her and her 14 year old daughter. Ashley is still reeling from the bombshell news that her dad is gay (and living in the guest house out back), her parents are divorced, and her mom's boyfriend and his son are moving in. In alternating chapters, Stewart and Ashley's stories unfold in radically different tones that are filled with humor, teen angst, and ultimately, understanding.

The plot is nothing new, and readers will probably see things unfolding far ahead of the actual events, but with characters you'll love, and love to hate, it's worth the read.
